Fluorite Ore Production Line Solution is designed for the efficient recovery of Fluorspar (CaF₂) from complex associated ores.

This solution utilizes a "Gravity Separation - Flotation" joint process. It effectively separates Fluorite from Barite, Quartz, and Sulfides, achieving high-grade Acid Spar (CaF₂ ≥ 97%) for chemical and metallurgical industries.

What Is Fluorite Beneficiation?

Fluorite Beneficiation is the process of concentrating Fluorite (Fluorspar) from gangue minerals. Since Fluorite has similar physical properties to Calcite and Barite, separation is challenging. The process typically involves Hand Sorting or Jigging for coarse metallurgical grade, and Flotation for fine chemical grade powder.

Fluorite Beneficiation Process Steps

Step 1: Crushing & Pre-Selection

Goal: Reduce ore size and discard waste rock early.

  • Crushing: Jaw Crusher (Coarse to -80mm) -> Cone Crusher (Medium to -20mm) -> HPGR (Fine to -5mm).
  • Pre-Selection: Using Jig Machine to process +2mm coarse particles. This can discard 15-30% of waste rock, reducing grinding cost.

Step 2: Grinding & Classification

Goal: Liberate Fluorite from impurities.

  • Stage 1: Ball Mill + Spiral Classifier (to -0.3mm).
  • Stage 2: Ball Mill + Hydrocyclone (to -0.074mm 80%).

Step 3: Flotation Separation (Core)

Specific strategies are used for different impurities:

Fluorite-Quartz:
Use Fatty Acid collectors. Add Sodium Silicate (Water Glass) to depress Quartz.
Fluorite-Barite:
Use Oleic Acid collectors. Maintain pH 8-9 and add Water Glass to separate them.
Sulfide Removal:
Float Sulfides first using Xanthate, then float Fluorite from tailings.

Function Reagent Purpose
Collector Oleic Acid Selectively coats Fluorite surface to make it float.
Depressant Sodium Silicate (Water Glass) Depresses Quartz and Silicates.
Regulator Sodium Carbonate (Soda Ash) Maintains optimal pH (8-9) and softens water.
Inhibitor Dextrin / Tannin Depresses Barite and Calcite.

Q1: How do you separate Fluorite from Calcite?

A: Separation is difficult as both contain Calcium. We use specialized inhibitors like Tannin extract or Acidified Water Glass to depress Calcite while floating Fluorite. Controlling pH is crucial.

Q2: What is the difference between Metallurgical and Acid Grade Fluorite?

A: Metallurgical Grade (Metspar) is coarse (+2mm) with 60-85% CaF₂, produced by Jigging. Acid Grade (Acidspar) is fine powder with >97% CaF₂, produced by Flotation for making Hydrofluoric Acid.

Q3: Why use Jigging for pre-selection?

A: Jigging removes barren waste rock early at low cost. This increases the feed grade for the expensive grinding/flotation stage and reduces total energy consumption by up to 30%.
