What Is Silver Ore Beneficiation?

Silver Ore Beneficiation is the process of extracting silver minerals (Argentite, Native Silver, etc.) from gangue. Since most silver is associated with Lead, Zinc, or Copper sulfides, Flotation is the dominant method. It utilizes collectors to make silver minerals hydrophobic, attaching them to bubbles for separation.

Step 1: Crushing & Screening

Goal: Reduce ROM ore to 15-25mm for grinding.

  • Crushing: Jaw Crusher (Primary) + Cone Crusher (Secondary).
  • Screening: Vibrating Screen ensures only qualified particles enter the fine ore bin.
  • Protection: Metal Detectors remove tramp iron to protect crushers.

Step 2: Grinding & Classification

Goal: Liberate silver minerals from gangue.

  • Stage Grinding: Ball Mill + Spiral Classifier in a closed circuit.
  • Regrinding: Coarse concentrate from roughing flotation is often reground to ensure full liberation before cleaning.

Step 3: Flotation Separation (Core)

Goal: Selectively float silver minerals.

Roughing:
Rapid recovery of easy-to-float silver minerals.
Cleaning (Concentration):
2-3 stages of cleaning to improve grade. Regrinding is often used here.
Scavenging:
Recover residual silver from tailings to maximize yield.
