Chromite Production Line Solution focuses on the efficient recovery of Chromite (FeCr₂O₄) using a combined Gravity-Magnetic process.

This solution adopts a technical route of "Multi-stage Classification and Gradient Separation". By optimizing crushing, screening, gravity separation, and magnetic separation, we achieve high-grade chromite concentrate and maximize recovery.

What Is Chromite Ore Beneficiation?

Chromite Beneficiation is the process of upgrading raw chromite ore (typically 25-35% Cr₂O₃) to metallurgical grade concentrate (≥45% Cr₂O₃). Since Chromite has a high specific gravity (4.5-4.8) and weak magnetism, the most effective process combines Gravity Separation (Spiral Chute, Jig) for roughing and Magnetic Separation for final purification.

Chromite Beneficiation Process Steps

Step 1: Crushing & Screening

Goal: Reduce raw ore size and classify it for different separation methods.

  • Crushing: Jaw Crusher (Coarse) and Roller Crusher (Fine) reduce ore size.
  • Screening: Circular Vibrating Screen classifies material into two fractions: +5mm (Coarse) and -5mm (Fine).
  • Regrinding: +5mm oversize is returned to the crusher for closed-circuit crushing.

Step 2: Gravity Separation (Core Stage)

Goal: Separate chromite based on particle size and density.

  • Coarse (+5mm): Processed by Jig Machine. Jigs are efficient for recovering coarse chromite lumps.
  • Fine (-5mm): Ground by Ball Mill and classified. -2mm fraction goes to Spiral Chute for roughing and scavenging.

Step 3: Magnetic Purification

Goal: Remove iron impurities and further upgrade the concentrate.

  • Spiral chute concentrate enters the multi-stage magnetic separation process.
  • Magnetic Separator: Uses Medium/Strong magnetic field to separate magnetic iron minerals from weakly magnetic chromite, improving the Chromium-Iron Ratio.

Step 4: Dewatering & Tailings

  • Dewatering: Concentrate is thickened and filtered to obtain the final product.
  • Tailings: Dry stacking system with water reuse rate ≥85%.
