The Center Drive Concentrator (NZ/NZS Series) is a continuous thickening equipment used to increase the solid density of slurry. It features a central drive mechanism and automatic rake lifting system.
It is essential for dewatering concentrate and tailings in Copper, Gold, and Coal plants, recycling clear water (Overflow) back to the process.
Separating clear water from solid particles via gravity settling.
Slurry is mixed with flocculant in the central feed well. Fine particles clump together into larger flocs, accelerating the settling speed.
Solids settle to the bottom tank floor. The weight of the upper layer compresses the lower layer, squeezing out water.
Rotating rake arms scrape the thickened sludge to the central discharge cone (Underflow). Clear water overflows the peripheral weir (Overflow).

When to choose Center Drive (NZ) over Peripheral Drive (NG)?
| Feature | Center Drive (NZ) | Peripheral Drive (NG) |
|---|---|---|
| Diameter | Small to Medium (< 24m). | Large (> 24m). |
| Auto Lifting | Easy (Hydraulic/Electric). | Hard (Complex structure). |
| Maintenance | Easy (Motor on bridge). | Medium (Roller track wear). |
| Space | Compact. | Large. |
Equipped with an overload protection system. If the sludge bed is too thick, the rake arms automatically lift to prevent damage and lower as torque decreases.
The specialized feed well design dissipates energy and promotes laminar flow, improving settling efficiency by 30% compared to traditional designs.
Uses a planetary gear reducer for high torque transmission. The main bearing is a heavy-duty slewing bearing, ensuring long service life.
| Model | Diameter (m) | Depth (m) | Area (m²) | Capacity (t/d) | Power (kW) |

| NZ-3.6 | 3.6 | 1.8 | 10.2 | 5 - 24 | 1.1 |
| NZ-6 | 6.0 | 3.0 | 28.0 | 14 - 62 | 3.0 |

| NZ-24 | 24.0 | 4.4 | 452.0 | 200 - 1440 | 7.5 |
A: For small models (up to NZ-9), we can supply the steel tank. For larger models (NZ-12 and above), we usually supply the Mechanism (Drive, Shaft, Rakes) and the customer builds the Concrete Tank on-site.
A: It depends on the mineral. Anionic Polyacrylamide (PAM) is commonly used for mineral tailings. We recommend doing a settling test to find the best type and dosage.
A: The system monitors the torque of the main shaft. If the sludge bed rises and torque exceeds a set limit, the hydraulic/electric actuator lifts the rakes. Once torque drops, it lowers them back down.
