The Three Disk Magnetic Separator is a precise dry separation equipment for mixed rare metals. It combines One Weak Magnetic Drum (for iron removal) and Three Strong Magnetic Disks (for mineral separation).
With an adjustable magnetic field up to 18000 Gauss (1.8T), it is the ultimate solution for separating Tin-Tungsten, Tantalum-Niobium, Monazite, and Zircon in a single pass.
Sequential separation based on magnetic susceptibility difference.
Material first passes the Weak Magnetic Drum (0.3-0.5T) to remove strong magnetic minerals like Magnetite, protecting the downstream disks.
The material flows under 3 Rotating Disks. The current of each disk is adjusted to adsorb minerals of different magnetic strengths (Weak -> Medium -> Strong).
Magnetic minerals are carried by the disks to the side and scraped into hoppers. Non-magnetic minerals (Zircon/Quartz) flow to the end.

Turn on the control system to warm up -> Gradually increase excitation current to working value -> Start the vibrating feeder.
Adjust the gap between disk and ore (usually 2-5mm). Adjust disk speed (30-60rpm) based on mineral grade.
Stop feeding -> Continue running for 5 mins to clear material -> Reduce current to zero -> Power off.
| Component | Maintenance Action | Expected Life (Normal Condition) |
|---|---|---|
| Disk Surface | Clean daily to remove stuck powder. | > 10 Years |
| Electromagnetic Coil | Check insulation resistance quarterly. | 5 - 8 Years |
| Vibrating Trough | Check for wear holes. | 3 - 5 Years |
| Electric Components | Dust cleaning monthly. | 5 - 7 Years |
Can separate Ferromagnetic (Iron), Weak Magnetic 1 (Ilmenite), Weak Magnetic 2 (Tantalite), and Non-magnetic (Zircon) simultaneously.
The magnetic field of each disk is independently adjustable (0-18000 Gs) via the control cabinet, allowing extreme flexibility for mixed ores.
Excellent performance for fine particles (0.1-2mm) where other magnetic separators fail. The vibrating trough ensures the material spreads thinly.
| Model | Disk Dia. (mm) | Feed Size (mm) | Field (Gauss) | Capacity (t/h) | Power (kW) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CP-500 | 500 | 0.1 - 2 | 18000 | 0.1 - 0.3 | 1.5 |
| CP-600 | 600 | 0.1 - 2 | 18000 | 0.3 - 0.6 | 2.2 |
| CP-900 | 900 | 0.1 - 2 | 18000 | 0.8 - 1.2 | 3.0 |

A: The Three Disk uses Electromagnetic coils, meaning you can adjust the magnetic strength by changing the current. Dry Rolls use Permanent magnets (fixed strength). The Three Disk is more precise for separating complex mixed minerals.
A: Not really. The total power is around 3-5kW for a CP-600 unit. The oil cooling system ensures efficient energy use and prevents overheating.
A: No. The material must be Bone Dry (Moisture < 1%). If the ore is wet, it must be dried using a Rotary Dryer before feeding, otherwise, particles will clump and affect separation.
