The Trommel Screen is the most effective equipment for washing and grading materials containing clay or sticky soil. It is the "Heart" of many Alluvial Gold Ore Production Lines.
Unlike static screens, the Trommel rotates to lift and drop the material (tumbling action). This effectively breaks up clay and scours the ore, making it perfect for processing River Sand, Placer Gold, and Municipal Solid Waste.
The material is lifted by the rotating drum and dropped by gravity, ensuring thorough separation.
Raw material is fed into the rotating drum (often via a vibrating feeder). High-pressure water jets inside the drum wash away clay and mud.
Fine materials pass through the screen apertures (mesh). We can install 1-3 layers of mesh to get different output sizes simultaneously.
Oversized rocks are discharged at the tail. The fine slurry flows to downstream equipment like the Sawtooth Wave Jig or Spiral Chute.

Which screening equipment is right for you? It depends on your material condition:
| Feature | Trommel Screen (Rotary) | Vibrating Screen |
|---|---|---|
| Material Type | Sticky, Clay-rich, Wet. | Dry, Clean, Crushed Rock. |
| Function | Washing + Screening. | Sizing / Grading mainly. |
| Alternatives | Use Rotary Scrubber for heavy clay. | Use circular vibrating screen for quarry. |

Equipped with a cleaning brush or beating mechanism on top of the drum to prevent screen blinding, ensuring continuous efficiency.
We use High Manganese Steel woven mesh or punched steel plates. Durable and easy to replace for different sizing needs.
Heavy-duty gear drive or rubber tire drive ensures low noise and stable rotation, even with heavy loads (up to 260t/h).

A: Yes! We manufacture both Stationary and Mobile Trommel Screens (mounted on wheels with a diesel generator), perfect for remote mining sites.
A: It depends on your gold particle size. For placer gold, the inner layer is typically punched plate (10-20mm) to protect the outer layer, and the outer layer is woven mesh (3-6mm) for fine separation.
A: The drum is usually installed at an inclined angle of 6° to 14°. This allows the material to move forward by gravity while tumbling for efficient screening.
