Integrated Solution for Coal Gangue Sorting, Treatment, and Resource Utilization turns mining waste into profit.

Coal gangue contains valuable Pyrite (Sulfur Iron Ore) and residual coal. Our solution uses a "Crushing - Jigging - Flotation" process to recover these resources (Recovery > 90%). The remaining waste is processed into bricks or cement, achieving 100% solid waste utilization.

What Is Coal Gangue Treatment?

Coal Gangue Treatment is the process of extracting value from coal washing waste. Pyrite (Specific Gravity ~5.0) is much heavier than coal/gangue (~2.0), making Gravity Separation (Jigging) the ideal method for recovery. For fine particles or high-coal content gangue, Flotation is used. The final inert tailings are used for building materials.

Sorting Process Steps

Step 1: Crushing & Screening

Goal: Liberate Pyrite from gangue matrix.

  • Crushing: Jaw Crusher / Hammer Crusher reduces lumps.
  • Screening: Trommel Screen classifies feed into:
    • Coarse (+30mm): Manual picking or re-crushing.
    • Medium (8-30mm): Sent to Large Particle Jig.
    • Fine (0-8mm): Sent to Fine Particle Jig.

Step 2: Gravity Separation (Core Recovery)

Goal: Recover heavy Pyrite concentrate.

  • Equipment: Jig Machine. Using water pulsation, heavy Pyrite sinks while light coal/gangue floats.
  • Performance: Recovery rate > 90%, Concentrate grade > 35% Sulfur.
  • Advantage: Low cost, no chemicals, high capacity.

Step 3: Flotation (Optional)

Goal: Recover fine coal or fine pyrite.

  • For complex ores, Flotation is added to recover fine-grained valuable minerals that gravity separation misses.

Step 4: Resource Utilization (Zero Waste)

  • Fuel: Residual coal used for power generation.
  • Building Materials: Tailings used for bricks, cement, road base.
  • Backfill: Used for mine reclamation.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Why recover Pyrite from gangue?

A: Pyrite (Sulfur Iron Ore) is a valuable raw material for sulfuric acid production. Recovering it provides economic revenue and prevents "Acid Mine Drainage" pollution caused by sulfur oxidation in waste piles.

Q2: What is the ROI period?

A: Due to the low cost of gravity separation and the saleable value of Pyrite concentrate, the payback period is typically less than 1 year.

Q3: Is the process water-intensive?

A: Jigging requires water, but we design closed-loop water circulation systems with sedimentation tanks, achieving >90% water recycling, making it environmentally friendly.
