Air-Inflated Flotation Machine (Forced Air Cell)

The Air-Inflated Flotation Machine is the core equipment for modern large-scale mineral processing. Unlike self-aspirating cells, it uses an External Blower to force air into the pulp, ensuring stronger agitation and lower power consumption.

It is ideal for processing complex ores like Gold, Copper, Lead-Zinc, and Fluorite. OreSolution provides the classic KYF and XCF series, supporting horizontal installation without foam pumps.

Working Principle: Forced Aeration

External air + Mechanical shearing = Perfect Mineralization.

01

Gas-Slurry Mixing

Low-pressure air enters through the hollow shaft. The rotating impeller disperses the air into micro-bubbles while mixing it thoroughly with the slurry.

02

Mineralization

Hydrophobic mineral particles attach to the bubbles. The "U" shaped tank design keeps coarse particles in suspension, preventing sedimentation.

03

Separation

Mineralized foam rises to the surface and is scraped out as concentrate. Tailings flow to the next cell or discharge box.

Selection Guide: How to Choose the Right Model?

1. Model Comparison (KYF vs XCF vs BS-K)

Model Slurry Suction Configuration Key Feature
KYF No (Need Stepwise) Roughing & Scavenging Low power consumption, suitable for large plants.
XCF Yes (Self-priming) Horizontal Layout Acts as a suction pump for the KYF cells.
BS-K No Cleaning Stage High enrichment ratio for final concentrate.

2. Configuration Strategy (Combined Unit)

To save infrastructure costs (no step-wise foundation), we recommend the Horizontal Combined Unit:

  • First Cell (Suction): Use XCF model. It sucks slurry from the feeding box or previous bank.
  • Following Cells (Direct): Use KYF models. They receive slurry from the XCF via direct flow.
  • 👉 Benefit: A flat floor installation without needing foam pumps in between cells.

3. Selection by Scale & Mineral

  • Small Plant: Choose 2-8m³ tank series.
  • Medium Plant: Choose 10-20m³ tank series.
  • Large Plant: Choose 30-40m³ tank series.
  • Coarse Particle: Use "Large Impeller" type for better suspension.
  • Fine Particle: Use "Micro-Bubble" type for better attachment.

Core Advantages

1. Energy Efficient

Saves 30-50% energy compared to self-aspirating machines because the impeller doesn't need to suck air, only circulate slurry.

2. Long Service Life

Lower impeller rotation speed results in less wear. Impellers and stators are lined with wear-resistant rubber, lasting over 12 months.

3. Precise Control

The air volume is independently adjustable via the blower valve, allowing operators to fine-tune the bubble size for optimal recovery.

Maintenance & Operation

Daily Check
Check bearing lubrication and ensure the air pipe is clear.
Weekly Check
Inspect the V-belt tension and the liquid level control system.
Key Parts Life
Impeller/Stator: 12-18 months. Tank Liner: 24 months.
Troubleshooting
If bubbles are unstable, check the blower pressure and disperser holes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Do I need a foam pump between cells?

A: If you use the XCF+KYF combined unit horizontally, you generally don't need a foam pump for middlings return within the bank. However, pumping is needed between Rougher and Cleaner stages.

Q: What chemicals can be used?

A: It works with all standard flotation reagents like Xanthate (collector) and Pine Oil (frother). Our rubber liners are resistant to chemical corrosion.

Q: Can it process coarse particles?

A: Yes. The KYF series uses a U-shaped tank and strong bottom agitation, which prevents coarse sand from settling, making it suitable for coarser grind sizes.
