The High Tension Electrostatic Separator (also known as High Voltage Roll Separator) uses the difference in Electrical Conductivity to separate minerals. It creates a composite electric field (Corona + Static) up to 60kV.
It is the key equipment for separating conductors (Rutile, Ilmenite, Cassiterite) from non-conductors (Zircon, Monazite, Quartz) in Beach Sand and Rare Earth processing plants.
Separation based on how fast minerals lose their charge.
Dried minerals are fed onto a rotating earthed drum. They pass through a Corona Field (generated by a high-voltage wire) and are bombarded with ions, becoming negatively charged.
Conductive minerals lose their charge quickly to the drum. Centrifugal force throws them away from the drum surface into the conductor chute.
Non-conductive minerals retain their charge. They are "pinned" to the drum surface by the electrostatic image force and are brushed off at the back.

Why do you need both in a mineral sands plant?
| Feature | Electrostatic Separator | Magnetic Separator |
|---|---|---|
| Separation Property | Electrical Conductivity. | Magnetic Susceptibility. |
| Typical Separation | Rutile (Conductor) vs. Zircon (Non). | Ilmenite (Mag) vs. Rutile (Non). |
| Pre-condition | Must be Hot & Dry (>100°C). | Dry (Temp doesn't matter). |
| Stage | Final Cleaning. | Roughing or Cleaning. |
Equipped with a 0-60kV adjustable high-voltage generator. The composite field (Arc + Static) ensures efficient separation of difficult minerals.
Available in 2-drum or 4-drum configurations. You can set the first stage for Roughing and subsequent stages for Scavenging or Cleaning in one machine.
Built-in heaters in the feed hopper and drums ensure the material stays dry and warm (100-200°C), which is crucial for electrostatic conductivity.

| Model | Drum Configuration | Capacity (kg/h) | Power (kW) | Weight (kg) |

A: Heating removes surface moisture and enhances the electrical conductivity difference between minerals. If the ore is cold or damp, electrostatic separation will fail.
A: Yes. The machine is fully enclosed with safety interlocks. It features over-current protection and automatic discharge rods. Operators must follow safety protocols and never open the door while running.
A: Absolutely not. The feed must be bone dry. You need a Rotary Dryer before this machine to heat the sand to ~120°C.
Achieve 98%+ purity for Zircon and Rutile concentrates.
