The Wet Strong Magnetic Separator (also known as WHIMS or Wet High Intensity Magnetic Separator) is designed to recover Weakly Magnetic Minerals such as Hematite, Limonite, Ilmenite, and Manganese from slurry.
With a magnetic field strength up to 16000 Gauss, it is also widely used for removing iron impurities (Purification) from non-metallic minerals like Quartz Sand and Feldspar.
Separating weak magnetic particles from non-magnetic slurry using high gradient field.
Slurry flows into the sorting area below the magnetic roller. The strong magnetic field penetrates the liquid.
[Image of magnetic separation diagram] Weak magnetic minerals (like Hematite) are attracted to the roller surface by the powerful magnetic force. Non-magnetic minerals (Silica) flow away with the water.
The adsorbed magnetic minerals rotate with the roller to the weak magnetic zone, where they are flushed off by clean water into the concentrate discharge.

Should you choose Wet or Dry separation for weak magnetic minerals?
| Feature | Wet Strong Magnetic Separator | Dry Strong Magnetic Separator |
|---|---|---|
| Feed Condition | Slurry (30-40% density). | Dry Powder or Sand. |
| Particle Size | Fine (0-3mm). | Medium/Coarse (1-20mm). |
| Dust Control | No Dust (Clean). | Needs Dust Collector. |
| Separation Efficiency | High (Water washes impurities). | Medium (Mechanical entrapment). |
Surface magnetic field reaches 12,000-16,000 Gauss using High Gradient Rare Earth magnets, capable of recovering even the weakest magnetic particles.
Can be configured with 2 or 4 rollers in series. The first roll removes strong magnetic iron (Magnetite), and subsequent rolls recover weak magnetic minerals (Hematite).
Compared to Electromagnetic separators (which need cooling systems and high power), our Permanent Magnetic separator consumes very little power and needs no maintenance.

| Model | Cylinder Size (mm) | Field Intensity (Gs) | Capacity (t/h) | Power (kW) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CSTS-3810 (Lab/Small) | Φ380 × 1000 | 11000 - 15000 | 1 - 2 | 2.2 |
| CSTS-5010 (Standard) | Φ500 × 1000 | 11000 - 15000 | 2 - 4 | 3.0 |
| CSTS-5015 (Double) | Φ500 × 1500 | 11000 - 16000 | 3 - 6 | 4.0 |
| CSTS-7518 (Large) | Φ750 × 1800 | 11000 - 16000 | 8 - 15 | 7.5 |
A: We use high-quality Rare Earth Permanent Magnets (NdFeB). The demagnetization rate is extremely low, less than 5% over 10 years.
A: It requires flushing water to unload the magnetic minerals. Water consumption is about 2-3 times the ore volume, but the water can be recycled using a Thickener.
A: Yes, but it is "overkill". For strong magnetic minerals like Magnetite, a standard Low Intensity Magnetic Separator (LIMS, <3000 Gauss) is cheaper and sufficient. This machine is for Weak Magnetic minerals.
Don't let weak magnetic minerals flow to tailings. OreSolution Wet Strong Magnetic Separator is your solution.
