Plate and Frame Filter Press

The Plate and Frame Filter Press is the most widely used solid-liquid separation equipment in mining. It uses mechanical pressure to force slurry through filter cloth, retaining solids as "filter cake" and discharging clear filtrate.

With a moisture content as low as 15-20%, it is essential for dry stacking of tailings and concentrate dewatering in Gold, Copper, and Coal washing plants.

Working Principle: Pressure Filtration

Intermittent operation cycle: Pressing - Filtering - Discharging.

Closing (Pressing)

The hydraulic cylinder pushes the moving head plate, compressing the pack of filter plates tightly to seal the chambers.

Feeding & Filtering

Slurry is pumped into the chambers. Liquid passes through the filter cloth and exits via drainage ports. Solids build up to form a cake.

Cake Discharge

Once the chamber is full, the feed pump stops. The plates are opened automatically or manually, and the dry cake falls out.

  • Filter Cloth: Clean monthly. Replace when damaged or heavily clogged (Life: 3-6 months).
  • Hydraulic Oil: Check level daily. Change every 3-6 months (Anti-wear hydraulic oil).
  • Filter Plates: Check sealing surfaces for damage. Replace warped plates to prevent spraying.

Q: Can it run automatically?

Q: What is the cake moisture?
