Spiral Classifier

Product Overview

Spiral classifier is an important grading equipment used with mill in mineral processing plant, which is mainly used for settling and grading of mineral particles. This equipment realizes the lifting and transportation of sedimentary sand through the spiral mechanism, featuring simple structure, convenient operation and high classification efficiency, and it is widely used in the pre-grading and checking grading operation in the process of metal ore dressing.

Working Principle

1. Slurry classification: the slurry is fed from the side of the trough body, forming a settling and classifying surface in the lower part of the trough body.

2. Separation of coarse and fine particles: coarse particles are pushed upward and discharged by the spiral blades after settling.

3. Fine overflow: the unsettled fine particles are discharged with the surface slurry through the overflow weir.

4. Dewatering of sedimentary sand: Dewatering of sedimentary sand is carried out simultaneously during the transportation of the spiral.

According to structural form

• High weir type: the overflow weir is higher than the center of spiral shaft, suitable for coarse grading (>0.15mm).

• Immersion type: the spiral blade is completely submerged, suitable for fine grains classification (<0.15mm)

• Low weir type: mainly used for ore washing operation
