Scheelite Production Line and Process Solution

I. Program Overview

Scheelite (CaWO₄) is often closely symbiotic with calcite, fluorite, barite, sulfide ores and silicate minerals, which is difficult to separate by flotation. Based on the good floatability of scheelite, the scheelite production line and process solution is designed to realize the efficient separation of scheelite and calcium-containing chalcocite by combining the technologies of gravity beneficiation, magnetic separation and high-temperature pre-treatment with the combined process of "flotation as the core". This scheelite beneficiation production line and process plan is suitable for scheelite ores with complex structure and close symbiosis, especially for low-grade, polymetallic associated ores with significant advantages.


Second, scheelite ore dressing process details

1. Crushing and grinding

  • Coarse crushing: Jaw crusher crushes the raw ore to 100-150mm.

  • Fine crushing: cone crusher + high pressure roller mill, the ore will be crushed to -10mm.

  • Grinding and Classifying: Ball Mill + Spiral Classifier in closed circuit to control the grinding fineness to the right size and ensure the minerals are fully dissociated.

2. Pre-enrichment (optional)

  • Gravity Separation Pre-Tailing: For coarse embedded scheelite, shaking table or spiral chute is used to pre-tail the ore to reduce the flotation treatment capacity.

3. Flotation separation (core stage)

(1) Separation of scheelite and sulfide ore
  • Give priority to flotation of sulfide ore:

    • Add collector+activator, flotation of sulfide ore (such as pyrite, pyromolybdenite).

    • Tailings into scheelite flotation, residual sulfide ore with inhibitor.

(2) Separation of scheelite from calcite and fluorite
  • High temperature water glass method (Petrov method):

    • The slurry is concentrated to 60-70% concentration, add the inhibitor, heat and stir for 30-60 minutes.

    • After dilution and flotation at room temperature, scheelite floats up and calcite/fluorite stays in the tank.

(3) Separation of scheelite and barite
  • Flotation of barite under acidic condition:

    • Adjust the pH, use the trapping agent, give priority to float barite.

    • The product in the tank is scheelite, which needs several times of selection and purification.

(4) Separation of scheelite from quartz/silicate
  • Conventional flotation method:

    • Capture agent: oleic acid or oxidized paraffin soap.

    • Inhibitor: Inhibit silicate veinstone.

4. Selection and deep purification

  • Multi-stage Concentration: The scheelite rough concentrate is selected for 3-5 times to increase the WO₃ grade to ≥65%.

  • Magnetic separation to remove impurities: If it contains magnetic minerals (such as magnetite), it is separated by wet strong magnetic separator.

5. Fine mud treatment

  • Centrifugal concentrator + flotation combined:

    • Fine mud (-0.037mm) is first pre-enriched by centrifuge, and then recovered by microbubble flotation.

    • Scheelite concentrate: WO₃ 65%, recovery rate 88%;

    • Fluorite concentrate: CaF₂ 95%, the comprehensive income increased by 30%.
